A “juzʼ” (plural: “ajzāʼ”) is one of the thirty sections of the Quran that are separated into different lengths of the sacred text. Another name for it is “parah,” which was first used in Iran and then spread to the Indian subcontinent. The Quran is divided into thirty portions, or ajzāʼ, also known as “سِپَارَρ –sipārah” in Persian, where “si” means thirty. The surahs al-Fatiha and al-Baqrah make up the first chapter of the Quran.

The surah Al Fatiha begins Paragraph 1 of the Quran. The Quran contains two Makki chapters: Al Fatiha and Al Baqarah. The Juz covers a wide range of subjects including instruction, Allah’s rule over the world, and the background of earlier Muslim societies. The opening statement of Surah al-Baqarah declares that the purpose of the Quran is to guide believers in Allah. Allah categorizes humans as hypocrites, believers, or disbelievers and describes the characteristics of the latter. Allah appointed humans to be His emissaries on Earth and gave the order for all other people to submit to Adam. The cow story teaches important lessons.

Adam’s Caliphate in the world

Quran Majeed para 1 surah al baqarah ayat 30 describes the caliphate of Hazrat Adam on earth.

وَ اِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلٰٓىٕكَةِ اِنِّیْ جَاعِلٌ فِی الْاَرْضِ خَلِیْفَةًؕ-قَالُوْۤا اَتَجْعَلُ فِیْهَا مَنْ یُّفْسِدُ فِیْهَا وَ یَسْفِكُ الدِّمَآءَۚ-وَ نَحْنُ نُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِكَ وَ نُقَدِّسُ لَكَؕ-قَالَ اِنِّیْۤ اَعْلَمُ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُوْنَ(30)

When Adam was created by Allah and appointed as His legate or caliph, the history of Hazrat Adam’s caliphate on Earth began. All creatures have names, which Allah taught Adam, and the angels have bowed down to him. But Iblis (Satan) rejected, saying that because he was made of fire, he was better than Adam. Even though Adam and his wife first lived in paradise, Iblis eventually convinced them to eat from the forbidden tree. After Adam turned to Allah in repentance, the Almighty pardoned him, gave him direction, and dispatched him to Earth to carry out his caliphate. Adam and his offspring were given the duty of caring for the Earth and following Allah’s instructions when they became human.

The Story of Red Heifer

The narrative of the red cow, which can be found in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:67–71) of the Quran, centers on Allah’s directive to the Children of Israel to kill a cow. They were told to sacrifice a cow, but rather than doing so right away, they made things harder for themselves by requesting extra information and conditions. They eventually located a cow, but because of its age and color, it was difficult to identify. They were reluctant at first, but in the end, they followed Allah’s order and killed the cow. This tale emphasizes the significance of following heavenly commands without hesitation or needless questioning.

Reconstruction of the Kaaba

In the Quran, Sharif para 1 Surah Al Baqarah ayat 125 indicates the command of Allah to Hazrat Ibrahim for the reconstruction of kaaba.

وَاِذۡ جَعَلۡنَا الۡبَيۡتَ مَثَابَةً لِّلنَّاسِ وَاَمۡنًاؕ وَاتَّخِذُوۡا مِنۡ مَّقَامِ اِبۡرٰهٖمَ مُصَلًّى‌ ؕ وَعَهِدۡنَآ اِلٰٓى اِبۡرٰهٖمَ وَاِسۡمٰعِيۡلَ اَنۡ طَهِّرَا بَيۡتِىَ لِلطَّآٮِٕفِيۡنَ وَالۡعٰكِفِيۡنَ وَالرُّکَّعِ السُّجُوۡدِ(125)

Hazrat Ibrahim and Hazrat Ismail were commanded by Allah to rebuild the Kaaba in Mecca after it had fallen into disrepair. Together, they rebuilt the Kaaba as a place of worship dedicated to the worship of Allah alone. Muslims commemorate this event annually during the Hajj pilgrimage, as it holds deep significance in Islamic history.
